Formal wear is not sized as every day wear that we purchase at
JC Penny's, Sears, Old Navy or other retail stores.
Measuring for your gown It is important to have your measurements taken by a bridal consultant
and then compare those measurements to the manufacturers size chart for the dress/gown you have selected. Each manufacturer
has their own chart. It is helpful to try on a gown by that designer to get a better idea of what areas fit well or may
need to be tailored to your personal body shape/size and to allow you to budget for those alterations. Your ordered
dress may fit slightly snugger than the sample piece that you tried on. Gowns are made basically for one size
fits all and your gown will NOT be customer made for you that is why we make every effort to get the closest fit for
your personal body shape/size.
If your measurements fall in-between one or two sizes, always go with your largest
area (bust, waist or hips) and you may need to go one size up to accommodate your personal build. Most gowns are
made for cups sizes a-b-c and if you are larger than these, you may need to go up a larger size to accommodate your bustline.
For example: if one designer says the bust (a-b-c cup)is a 6, waist an
8, hips a 6 - go with the size 8. You can always have the dress altered to the areas that may need it. If you
have a D, DD cup or larger, you will need to go up one to two sizes to accommodate the bustline.
Proper fitting
undergarments will have an affect on your gowns fit as well.

Out-of-town attendants If you are an out-of-town attendant,
we highly encourage you to follow the same steps at a local bridal store to help get you a closer fit and save some alteration
costs. If you do not have a local bridal shop in your area, we will only be able to base the size on the measurements
you provide to us and your gown could be too large or small if not honest on your measurements. We will work together
as a team to select a size over the phone.
Hem line & Height Gowns are generally
made for 5 foot, 9 inch tall ladies, with or without shoes. You may need to order extra length at an additional fee
if you are over this height with or without shoes. If you are UNDER this height, you should plan to have a floor length
dresses hemmed.
Got curves? Some
companies charge an additional fee for gowns in sizes 18 or larger. Be sure to inquire on this at the time of ordering
so you may budget accordingly.
Our staff is more than happy to aide you in selecting the best size
to order. Remember, most if not all, bridal garments need some form of tailoring.
